Body Art (Tattoo, Body Piercing & PMU)
Facilities in Washtenaw County that perform tattooing (including permanent makeup/PMU and microblading), body piercing (except for just piercing the ear), or branding must have a license from the State of Michigan and must be inspected annually by the Washtenaw County Health Department’s Environmental Health Division.
In Michigan, any body art procedure that is not performed in a licensed facility is illegal, even if the procedure is done for free!
