The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners created a Homeland Security Task Force to coordinate all county homeland security activities with federal, state, and local governments; to assess terrorism risks, response capabilities and needed improvements; to develop community guidance and emergency response procedures; and to make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners about utilization of federal and state homeland security grant funds for domestic preparedness equipment and training.
Our medical control authority is responsible for overseeing the emergency medical services in Washtenaw and Livingston Counties. This system includes two advanced life support agencies, 26 fire departments and one medical helicopter service.
