Many diseases are considered "reportable illnesses." This means that any positive results from tests taken at a healthcare facility, testing site, or lab are required to be reported to the state or local health department. Our staff investigate these reports to try to determine how and where the person was infected, if the person needs additional help, and what can be done to prevent further illness spread. As part of this investigation, a resident may receive a phone call from our staff if they have been diagnosed with a reportable disease.
