Business Reporting a COVID-19 Positive Case or Worker
To report a COVID-19 positive case or worker for a business located in Washtenaw County, please enter the information in our secure online portal.

COVID-19 Complaint about a Business Operating in Violation of Orders
To report concerns or complaints about essential businesses, social distancing, masks, or other concerns, please visit the State of Michigan site for details.
To report MIOSHA or workplace safety complaints call 855 SAFE C19 (855 723-3219) and/or file a complaint with MIOSHA.
To report a complaint about a grocery store, convenience store, or gas station, please complete this online form for the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), which is the agency that licenses and inspects these facilities.

Reporting a Large Gathering in Violation of State or Local COVID-19 Orders
University of Michigan area: To report a gathering that does not comply with local or state orders on or near the University of Michigan campus, please contact a special U of M hotline at 734-647-3000.
Other areas of Washtenaw County: To report a large gathering that does not comply with local or state orders, you may call Metro Dispatch at 734-994-2911 and you will be connected to your local police agency. Please consider calling if there appears to be a serious threat to health or safety.
Housing, Sanitation & Environmental
The Environmental Health Division responds to housing complaints and other issues involving unsanitary conditions. Common complaints we receive include mold in an apartment, bedbugs in a motel, sewage surfacing from a failing septic system, and tattoos being performed in an unlicensed location.
Food Service Establishments
Common food service establishment complaints we receive include restaurant employees not wearing gloves while handling food, insects in the establishment or other unsanitary conditions.
Foodborne Illness (Food Poisoning)
If you believe you have gotten sick from food you ate at a restaurant, grocery store, event or other food service facility in Washtenaw County, please report it to our office.
Clean Indoor Air & Smoking
The Clean Indoor Air Regulation prohibits smoking, including the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems, e-cigarettes or similar devices, in public and private worksites and enclosed public places, such as stores, public buildings, reception areas and public transportation.
Animal Bites & Rabies
All animal bites and exposures to bats should be reported to the Washtenaw County Health Department. Our communicable disease staff is available to consult regarding the need for post-exposure prophylaxis for humans. We also coordinate testing for rabies on animals.
Communicable Disease Reporting
Physicians, labs, infection control practitioners, schools, child care centers, and other care providers are required to report certain diseases to the local health department. Currently, there are over 70 reportable diseases in Michigan.
