Animal Control Officer
Washtenaw County Animal Control Officers perform a wide variety of professional direct service, supplemental and auxiliary animal control duties and tasks that require some application of independent judgment. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to investigating animal control related calls for service and enforcing statutes relating to the control and disposal of animals. Annual salary ranges from $35,518.08 - $48,680.32 ($53,548.35 including longevity pay)

Communications Operator (911 Dispatcher)
As an integral part of Washtenaw County’s public safety system, our Communications Operators answer emergency and non-emergency phone lines, assist a variety of law enforcement agencies, coordinate needed responses to our citizens, and help save lives.
Annual salary ranges from $52,774.28 - $71,220.18
Our police services staff is dedicated to upholding the Sheriff’s Office Mission serving the citizens of Washtenaw County with a community-based and problem-oriented policing foundation. Drug Testing Agent
Our team of Drug Testing Agents collects, tests, and maintains the integrity of samples provided by individuals court-ordered to undergo drug/alcohol screenings.

Parks Service Officer
Interested in exploring a potential career in public safety? Our Parks Service Officer (PSO) team work during the summer season patrolling Washtenaw County's parks under the supervision of a Deputy Sheriff. Marine Safety Officer
Our Marine Safety Officers are responsible for patrolling the waterways in Washtenaw County and enforcement of the State of Michigan Marine Safety Act. Applications received after May 15, 2023 will be considered for the 2024 season.
