October 1st - 31st, 2022

Mother Nature has Her own language and in Fall, she speaks to us through leafy crimsons, golds, and oranges and through caressing, crisp breezes. Our parks and preserves are bursting with Autumnal abundance, welcoming everyone to the 2022 Preserve Challenge. Throughout October, we invite all of you to a month of connection and communion with the outdoors. During this virtual challenge you are encouraged to enrich your weekly outdoor experience in any way that resonates with you. With the Preserve Challenge your goals are yours to set - incorporate nature into your weekly routine, build endurance by adding miles, or discover new places throughout our community. For many of us here at Parks, Fall is our favorite time of year. With the cooling of temperatures and the changing of colors, there’s truly no better time to explore our natural world.

To join, simply register and start exploring. Throughout the Preserve Challenge, we will send weekly emails featuring select and parks and preserves, along with tips for exploring. At the end of the four weeks, everyone will be sent a commemorative patch.

Collectively as a community, can we visit every preserve and park?  Share your experience on social media using #ExploreWashtenaw.

The Earth belongs to us all, and this challenge is for every one of us to embrace in a way most meaningful to us. We look forward to you accompanying us on this nature adventure.
