Mediation

By statute the Washtenaw County Friend of the Court offers Mediation. Mediation is a confidential and voluntary process to help parents resolve custody and parenting time issues without having to go to court. This service is available even if the dispute is not before the court.  In Mediation, parents meet with a neutral third party who will help them talk about the issues between the parents. The Mediator can help prepare a consent agreement/order. The Mediator does not make decisions or issue recommendations to the Court.

If you or the other parent would like to participate in Mediation, please submit the Application for Domestic Relations form.
