Eviction Prevention Progam Flyer Opens in new window Barrier Busters is a network of over 100 local service agencies, community groups, churches, and more seeking to serve Washtenaw County residents. 

Visit Washtenaw.org/2818 to find an operating agency. Contact them and they will work with you to connect you to financial assistance!

Utility Information

Water:

  • City of Ann Arbor - Services have been restored to households with prior shutoffs. Water services will be maintained for households with delinquent payments.
  • Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority – Services have been restored to households with prior shutoffs. Water services will be maintained for households with delinquent payments.
  • Ann Arbor Township – Services have been restored to households with prior shutoffs. Water services will be maintained for households with delinquent payments.
  • City of Dexter – Residents having difficulty paying their utility bills are strongly encouraged to contact the City of Dexter to make payment arrangements. They can do so by calling the City’s Utility Billing Clerk at 734-580-2232.
  • City of Chelsea – Residents having difficulty paying their utility bills are strongly encouraged to contact the City of Chelsea to make payment arrangements.
  • City of Milan  – The City will continue to bill and collect funds but aren’t enforcing due dates or adding penalties to late payments. These guidelines have been enforced from Friday, March 13th through the end of April. Residents of Milan also have the ability to set up payment plans with no interest during this time.
  • City of Saline – Residents having difficulty paying their utility bills are strongly encouraged to contact the City of Saline to make payment arrangements. They can do so by calling the City’s Utility Billing Clerk at 734-429-4907 ext. 2204 

Energy:

  • DTE - If you’re having trouble paying your bills due to reduced income or health impacts from COVID-19, call 800.477.4747. DTE will set up a personalize payment plan for you that gives you more time to pay while protecting your energy services. Learn more.
  • Consumers Energy – Any customer who needs help paying their energy bill to call us at 1-800-477-5050 to discuss their assistance options. Learn more.
