Scheduling a Weekday Appointment with the Home Toxics Center ensures we will have staff available to take your items.
To make an appointment, use the form below or call our hotline at 734-222-3950 during business hours. Appointments sent through the form will be reviewed by a waste specialist and confirmed during business hours. Your confirmation email will contain instructions on safely packaging your hazardous materials, how to get to the Home Toxics Center, and what to do once you arrive.
We are a free service, but we accept monetary contributions that go directly towards our disposal costs. Contributions can be made by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Apple Pay virtually through PayPal. To make a cash or check donation, our waste specialists can provide an envelope during your appointment to drop off at the front of the building.
If you are bringing in a large load of materials that would fill a truck bed, please attend a Saturday Collection Event. Saturday Collection Events have more staffing to unload and sort materials faster. If you cannot make a Saturday Collection Event, call prior to making an appointment to ensure we will have staffing and space for your materials.
The Washtenaw County Home Toxics Center provides waste diversion to residents in compliance with State of Michigan legislation. To keep our program open and able to meet the needs of Washtenaw County residents, wastes from businesses, government entities, and other organizations are not accepted. If you are looking to dispose of waste from your business, government entity, or organization, please call us at 734-222-3950 for referrals. Pesticides can be accepted regardless of business use or out-of-county residency.
