School Recycling Program
What is the School Recycling Program?
The School Recycling Program provides recycling funding, support, and coordination to participating schools serving Washtenaw County students.
The primary goals of the program are to increase recycling rates at K12 schools and to build a culture of recycling among students and school staff that is carried with them into the larger community.
Annual Art Contest
Each year, this program hosts an art contest, giving students an opportunity to creatively express ideas surrounding recycling and waste reduction. It encourages students to think about how waste impacts the environment and how we all play a part in protecting natural resources.
Winners
2022-2023: Woodland Meadows Elementary and AC Tech High School
2020-2021: Pleasant Ridge Elementary and Washtenaw International High School
2019-2020: Cancelled due to Covid
