The Plan Implementation Action Committee reviewed the Solid Waste Programs that work to achieve the Solid Waste Plan. The year long effort identified strengths, weaknesses, threats, threats and opportunities to identify recommendations and prioritize programs.

The Washtenaw County Solid Waste Management System consists of collection, transfer, processing and disposal facilities. The network of system facilities are utilized to support "enhanced waste prevention, reduction, and recycling, composting and sanitary landfill service."

Waste Diversion

This feasibility study addresses a comprehensive waste diversion strategy and identifies potential locations to site one or more new, expanded waste diversion facilities within Washtenaw County, with the goal of presenting siting options that will provide the most comprehensive set of services to all County residents.
