Zero Waste Washtenaw is the County’s zero waste events program. The purpose of the program is to encourage and assist all event participants (organizers, vendors, attendees, etc.) to minimize their environmental footprint at events through practicing zero waste.
Since 2015 the Washtenaw County Solid Waste Division has collaborated with our partner Recycle Ann Arbor to expand the reach and impact of zero waste events throughout Washtenaw County.
Learn more about how Zero Waste Washtenaw began through a Michigan Department of Environmental Quality P2 grant project.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, we are currently unable to provide on-site Zero Waste Event services until approximately July 2021 (subject to change due to regulations and County approval). Staff are available for virtual consultations if you have questions about Zero Waste Events or are planning events for 2021.
