Sample Designs
If you are thinking about starting a rain garden, we offer the following examples for your review.
View any of the rain gardens pages below to view the garden plan, plant list and other details about each garden. Like any perennial garden, rain gardens have an infinite range of possible designs depending on individual preferences, location, soils, slope, and light. We encourage you to experiment and build a garden that suits you!
The gardens featured were created by InSite Design Studio, Inc. Nearly all gardeners dug their own garden with a rototiller, although some hired landscape firms to perform the work.
- For ’do-it-yourselfers’ we have complied a list of rain garden resources and garden construction tips.
- Not a ’do-it-yourselfer’ or think you could use some help getting started? Fear not, we offer assistance to ten individuals per year. Please email our Rain Garden Coordinator, Susan Bryan for more details.
