[ARCHIVED] Community Chooses New Playground Design Ypsilanti’s Parkridge Park

Over the last year, the City of Ypsilanti and the Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development engaged over 100 residents to identify and prioritize what type of investment they want to see in their community. Last Summer, dozens of community members voted to build a new playground in Parkridge Park.

This Summer, we hosted a virtual kids input session which helped us make a list of playgrounds and add-ons for residents to vote on. On August 5th, 70 residents came to Parkridge Park to cast a ballot, selecting the playground that can be seen in this image!

Over the next several weeks, the City of Ypsilanti will move the process forward. If approved, the playground, along with swings, a merry go round, accessible play elements and more will be installed in either late fall, or early spring 2021.
