Advisory: Washtenaw County Health Department Updates Local Orders

on Social Gatherings in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti

YPSILANTI, Mich., Oct 7, 2020 – Washtenaw County Health Department is updating the local orders on social gatherings and events in residential settings in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. The Gatherings and Events Order issued Oct 5, 2020 is rescinded. A new order is issued today to continue limiting the size of outdoor social gatherings in residential settings within the Cities of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.

Under the local order indoor social gatherings at an Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti residence are limited to 10 or fewer individuals not in the same household and using face coverings, social distance and frequent hand cleaning. This limit is the same as the state limit.

Outdoor social gatherings at an Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti residence are limited to 25 or fewer individuals. This is a reduction of the state limit, applicable only in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.

Social gatherings and events in other parts of Washtenaw County or in non-residential settings must comply with Michigan Department of Health and Human Service (MHDDS) orders

For current local orders, see www.washtenaw.org/covid19 and select “Health Orders.”
