ipad-820272_960_720

We're planning for the future and we need your feedback! It is, once again, time for an update of the five-year Parks and Recreation Master Plan and we are seeking the public’s input through a comprehensive survey. Please click on the link to complete the parks and recreation needs assessment survey to have your input – it should only take 10-15 minutes. The results of this survey will be used to establish priorities for improvements and new recreation opportunities to our park system over the coming years.

Washtenaw County Parks Master Plan Survey

Forty-five years ago, the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC) held its first meeting. The Commission’s land base at the time consisted of five roadside parks, and undeveloped land in Lyndon Township. One of the Commission’s first tasks was to create a five-year Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Since that time, the park system has grown to include over 7,300 acres of land, including over 40 nature preserves and parks. Every five years, the Commission updates the Parks and Recreation Master Plan to identify priorities and remain eligible for State of Michigan recreation grants. Below is a link to a sampling of accomplishments over the last 10 years, with the guidance of our master plan.
