[ARCHIVED] Flood Assistance Fund Application

Flood Assistance

The following application process has been developed for the distribution of Flood Funds that were allocated to Washtenaw County to support damages sustained during the severe weather on June 25-26, 2021.  These funds may only be used to cover costs for emergency and disaster response and mitigation related to the June 2021 weather events in Washtenaw County.  They are not to be used to pay for items that have been reimbursed by insurance and/or FEMA.  The County is prioritizing these funds to assist residents of Washtenaw County (both renters and homeowners) whose expenses exceeded insurance coverage and/or assistance provided through FEMA.

The application process will be available online through the County’s public website, as well as in paper form for those that may not have access online.  Applications may be submitted via the online portal or regular mail through January 31, 2022.   Applicants will be notified of any funding decision by February 15, 2022.

As part of the application process claims will need to be supported by appropriate documentation (e.g., estimated cost of damages (including a quote for work, receipts for reimbursement, and photos if available), as well as approval and/or denial correspondence from insurance carrier and/or FEMA.

If you have any questions or need additional information please contact Diane Heidt, Deputy County Administrator, [email protected] or 734-891-2570.
