Natl Volunteer Day News Story

Jan and Chris adopted the rain garden at the Vet's Park Fire Station for 6, years and have cared for the garden weekly throughout the spring and fall. These two Master Gardeners made big improvements and have added a lot of color to the garden

Roger started caring for the Huron Hills Golf Course and the Gallup Livery rain gardens in 2015 and has kept them weed-free and beautiful. Roger would visit the gardens by bike and even had a folding shovel he could stash in his backpack!

As these stewards retire from their valued volunteer work, these two rain gardens are now up for adoption!

Stewards set their own hours, and visit the garden as often as they would like to do weeding, trimming, planting, and other garden-related tasks. If you are interested in caring for the Vet's Park Fire Station rain garden or the Huron Hills Golf Course rain garden, please email Catie Wytychak at [email protected].

We wanted to thank ALL of our volunteers that help keep our programs running! Our mission could not be accomplished without your support. Thank you.
