Naloxone, (Narcan), is a medication that is used to reverse opioid overdoses. The medication is a nasal spray that can easily administered with very minimal training. Naloxone is proven to save lives. All WCSO Deputies, Corrections Officers, and Reentry Center staff have been trained to administer Naloxone and carry these kits. Since 2015 the WCSO has had over 325 Naloxone saves.
This vending machine is located at the WCSO Reentry Center at 4101 Washtenaw Ave Ann Arbor, MI 48108. The kits are free to the public and can be discreetly obtained by anyone looking to save lives and interrupt the fatal effects of opioid overdoses.
Additional support services for opioid use are available through WCSO Community Engagement and WSCO Community Corrections.
