Environmental Excellence Award Winners
The Water Resources Commissioner’s Office and Division of Public Works are excited to announce the Environmental Excellence Award Winners. The Environmental Excellence Partnership Program (E2P2) recognizes leaders in environmental protection. Annual awards are given for notable efforts in areas of water quality protection, waste reduction and recycling, and pollution prevention.
A committee of staff from the Water Resources Commissioner’s Office and the Health Department’s Environmental Health Division facilitates the award process. This committee recommends organizations on the following criteria:
- Compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Implementation of innovative environmental initiatives above and beyond legal requirements
- Submission of necessary plans and reports, e.g., Hazardous Materials and Waste Spill Response Plans, Environmental Excellence Action Plans, Pollution Prevention Status Sheets, etc.
- A demonstrated commitment to our environment and community
These award winners have gone above and beyond to do what is best for the environment:
Water Quality Protection Award: protecting the health of our rivers by building rain gardens and planting trees.
Arbor Brewing Company 
Crossings of Ann Arbor Condominium Association 
Waste Reduction and Recycling Award: improving our environment through exemplary waste reduction and promoting reuse and recycling within our communities.
Fjällräven Ann Arbor 
Emmanuel Lutheran Church 
Pollution Prevention Award: reducing and properly managing hazardous materials.
Convenience Auto Service 
Toyota Tech Center 
Leadership in Environmental Excellence:
Shannan Gibb-Randall of InSite Design Studio, Inc. 
Shannon received this award for her decades-long leadership, expertise, and passion in the field of green infrastructure and native plant landscape architecture.
Master Composter Leadership Awards: continued volunteer dedication to stewardship, education, and leadership in composting and landfill diversion.
