[ARCHIVED] Meeting Notice: Washtenaw County Officials to Provide Update on Broadband Investment

News Flashes

Washtenaw County, MI – Washtenaw County officials will be hosting a Broadband Townhall at Sylvan Township Hall on September 26, 2022, from 6:30 to 8pm.

In September 2021, the Board of Commissioners approved a historic investment to bring Broadband internet infrastructure to all households using American Rescue Plan Act funding. This effort to connect Washtenaw County will reach over 3000 households in the coming years. In June 2022, the County announced the first household was connected in Lima Township as a part of this investment.

“A lot of progress has been made in the past year, and we are excited to provide this update to community members and help them get their questions answered,” said Jason Maciejewski, Commissioner for District 1.

The townhall will include background of the project from the Broadband Task Force, and a more detailed update on progress being made and timelines moving forward from the County-contracted project management team.

County Commissioners and County Staff will also be in attendance to help answer questions and listen to community input. Commissioners in attendance will include Jason Maciejewski and Shannon Beeman, who served on the Broadband Task Force, and Sue Shink, Chair of the Board of Commissioners.
