WASHTENAW COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

PUBLIC NOTICE – SEEKING CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS FOR 

THE REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY


The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners is looking for citizens to volunteer for a position on the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan. The Board of Commissioners will make this appointment at its upcoming session on September 19, 2018 at 6:45 p.m. in the Board Room, Administration Building, 220 North Main Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan. 


Individuals interested in applying should submit a letter of interest and resume, including a home address, to the Washtenaw County Clerk’s office, Attention: Appointments, P.O. Box 8645, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48107. Letters and resumes may also be submitted via email to [email protected], via fax (734) 222-6528, or apply online at https://secure.ewashtenaw.org/bocdob/apply.do


Those resumes received by SEPTEMBER 13, 2018 will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners for its consideration on September 19, 2018. The appointments will become effective September 19, 2018. This appointment includes:



- Regional Transit Authority - The Board of Commissioners is looking to fill one (1) position for the remainder of a three-year term expiring December 31, 2018. The purpose of the RTA is to plan for and coordinate public transportation in the four-county region, including the City of Detroit, and to deliver rapid transit in a region where none exists. It is the entity through which transit providers must apply for state and federal funds, and through which those funds are allocated to providers. The RTA is also responsible for developing a Regional Master Transit Plan to guide present and future service and is empowered to put funding questions on the ballot for public vote.
