Ofc. Ruth Rusu, Ofc. Laura Tew, Ofc. Brooke Lucidi, Ofc. Bryan Brunson, Ofc. Christopher Holman, and Ofc. Gregory Gillette graduated from the Washtenaw Community College Corrections Officers Academy on March 1, 2018. The Corrections Officer Academy has a 160 hour curriculum that includes classes on Correctional Law, Prisoner Behavior, Defensive Tactics, and Fire Safety, amongst others.
Corrections Officers from Lenawee County, Livingston County, and Monroe County attended the Corrections Academy with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office students. The entire class received high praise from instructors, Washtenaw Community College Public Service Training Division Staff, and Michigan Sheriff’s Training Council members. Ofc. Christopher Holman received the award for Top Academic Achievement as well.
