[ARCHIVED] Community Members Identify and Prioritize New Housing and Public Infrastructure Projects

Parkridge Community Input Session

The Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development and the City of Ypsilanti hosted a series of meetings with residents who live in the neighborhood located south of W. Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti. These meetings sought to identify and prioritize investments in this community by allowing residents to lead the conversation and brainstorm what types of projects they would like to see.

At the final meeting, attendees were invited to vote on which projects brought up at prior meetings they would like to prioritize moving forward. Installing new playground equipment in Parkridge Park was selected as the top priority, with three projects being selected as secondary priorities: funding home improvement for owner-occupied residents, repairing water fountains around Parkridge park, and repaving the basketball courts at Parkridge Park.
