The Health Insurance Marketplace will be open for enrollment from Nov. 1 through Dec. 15, 2019 for coverage starting January 1, 2020. The premiums for some plans have decreased significantly. The Washtenaw Health Plan can help find the plan that’s best for you.
“Washtenaw County saw a five percent decrease in Marketplace enrollment last year,” says Krista Nordberg, director of enrollment and advocacy for the Washtenaw Health Plan. “But we are finally seeing the cost of plans go down. We hope this will bring folks back to the Marketplace.”
Schedule your free appointment with the Washtenaw Health Plan at 734-544-3030 for help understanding and applying for Marketplace insurance. Walk-ins are also welcome Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm at 555 Towner Street, Ypsilanti.
During the Open Enrollment period last year, the Washtenaw Health Plan helped almost 1,000 residents access affordable health care coverage.
If you are already insured through the Marketplace (also known as HealthCare.gov, Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare), you should update your information and make sure your current plan is still the best one for you, your family and your budget. Visit your Marketplace account at HealthCare.gov or get help locally at the Washtenaw Health Plan.
All Marketplace plans cover the 10 essential health benefits, including; coverage for pre-existing medical conditions, doctors’ services, hospital care, prescription drug coverage, pregnancy and childbirth, mental health services, preventative care, birth control coverage, and more.
The Washtenaw Health Plan can help find the health care coverage right for you, whether it’s the Marketplace, Medicaid, the Washtenaw Health Plan, or employer insurance. Spanish-speaking and Arabic-speaking staff members, as well as phone interpreters for other languages, are available.
