Washtenaw County Government Plans to Reopen with Modified Services on Monday, June 15, 2020
County Administrator making plans to reestablish operations on Monday, June 15
ANN ARBOR, MI- Washtenaw County Administrator Gregory Dill announced this morning that the County is making plans to reopen on Monday, June 15.
“COVID-19 has caused so much disruption in our community, and so many of us have lost friends and loved ones to this horrible virus. It is for this reason that Washtenaw County has adhered to the recommendations of our health experts and the orders of our governor. We are now making plans to resume modified services on Monday, June 15. While this unprecedented closure has significantly impacted our service delivery, social distancing that saves the lives of members of our community and our employees is of far greater importance. We are looking forward to reopening our doors on June 15, and while we are excited to resume in person transactions, we will be asking our customers to use face masks whenever they are in our buildings. Some departments will be offering curbside services, and, of course, we will continue to encourage the utilization of our virtual service delivery wherever possible.”
Chair of the Board of Commissioners Jason Morgan adds, “County government has been on the front lines of keeping residents safe and healthy during the COVID-19 crisis and we will continue to stay vigilant as we serve our community. We are taking all precautions as we return many employees to in-person work and will continually reassess operations as we move forward.”
Washtenaw County Departments continue to update their respective websites so residents are aware of modified, but available services. Whenever possible, staff are working remotely to respond to and meet the needs of their customers. Before visiting, members of the public are asked to check with the department to ensure their needs can be met via the modified service delivery plan. If we’re unable to accommodate an in-person transaction, county staff will discuss options at that time.
