Overview:
Independence Lake County Park is among the best destinations in southern Michigan for diverse, beautiful natural areas that are carefully balanced with year-round recreational offerings. Highlights include Blue Heron Bay (spray park), the beach center, boat rentals, playgrounds, the 36-hole Red Hawk Disc Golf Course, hiking trails, groomed cross-country (X-C) ski trails and ice fishing in the winter! Visit the Independence Lake County Park home page for more information.

Blue Heron Bay
Blue Heron Bay is a spray pad that is sure to be a great time for the whole family and is open from Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. No outside food or beverages are permitted in the spray park but food and beverages can be purchased at the concessions stand. Beach and Blue Heron Bay hours are subject to change without advance notice so please check the Independence Lake Park or Blue Heron Bay homepages (or call 734-449-4437).

Boating:
The park offers a launch site for canoes, kayaks and motorized boats with ten or less horsepower (paddle boats and rowboats are available for rent). Be sure to bring a Driver's License or State I.D. for rentals.
