Attracted to a career in public safety, Leigh began her career as a Communications Operator / Dispatcher in 2007 in Idaho. She came to Michigan and joined the Sheriff’s Office in June of 2015. During her tenure as a Communications Operator with the Sheriff’s Office, she is the recipient of two (2) Unit Citations and a Professional Administrative Excellence award for her work on the Alternative Shift Pilot Project. Her experience includes serving as a member of the Emergency Services Division Recruitment Team and as the Sergeant at Arms for the POAM. Working to prepare herself for this next step in her professional career, Leigh is in her final year of pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Emergency Management from Waldorf University.
